Started this project as a database specialist, for the creation of procedures to adapt data stored in museum databases to Darwin Core standard, related to museum’s participation in international project to create a Global Biodiversity Information Infrastructure (GBIF - www.gbif.org/)After achieving the above tasks, I was responsible of the design and development of an application for manage and integrate the data of collections.Finally, I participated in defining the strategic plan of the Museum 2010-2014. I suggested the creation of a Bioinformatics Unit, attached to the Vicedirector Collections. This idea was widely welcomed by the international commission that evaluated the strategic plan, and so I became responsible of this Unit.During this last period, I participated as Responsible of Bioinformatics of the Museum in several international projects for the implementation and use of IT for the management, analysis and visualization of data, for to provide new tools to the international scientific community. Some of these projects were; SYNTHESYS (www.synthesys.info/) And ISTC EDIT (http://cybertaxonomy.eu/blog/node/131).
