Studio ProductionWorks in collaboration with clients and production staff to produce a variety of video products for broadcast, social, and video streaming; plans and directs assigned studio productions; oversees operation of small multi-camera studio; operates video switching, character generation and digital video effects equipment, edit controllers, cameras, hard disk video recorders, switchers, and audio mixers; adjusts studio lighting equipment including fixed and portable tungsten lights; adjusts audio equipment including assorted lavalier, cardioid and shotgun microphones; works with clients to prepare “B-roll” footage for inclusion in live productions; provides limited troubleshooting of video, audio and lighting equipment; performs routine equipment maintenance; makes recommendations to department for software and equipment purchases. Field ProductionIn cooperation with other staff, coordinates pre-production and production planning activities; conducts field-based video production which involves interacting with clients and operating all portable video and audio equipment; transports and sets up lighting and audio equipment as required; provides limited troubleshooting and maintenance of field production equipment. Post-ProductionPlans and performs video post-production tasks which includes reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, tape logging, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing using Final Cut Pro and Adobe software; utilizes computer graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall production concepts; compresses video projects for output; makes video products.

Focus: Local and regional based distribution of information via social, broadcast media, and/or print work via local distribution or in-house mail services. Was part of several focus groups and helped provide results, conceptualize visual direction and design municipal appropriate advertising and marketing media. Visual lead and design lead in self-starting environment. Helping analyze client needs and defining scope of work in concert with the Print Services Manager, Information Technology web team and/or Raleigh Television Network. Also involved in quoting print work for digital reproduction, creating prepress separations, non-linear editing for government television series and other broadcast graphics, and audio editing/sweetening. Creative responsibilities included: Composing various design projects including, print, broadcast and web collateral, departmental identity packages, and advertising campaigns spread throughout different medias. Performed extensive color and image correction, photo manipulation and restoration for various projects such as catalogs, comprehensive annual financial reports, brochures and public service announcements. Project scopes included research advertising, marketing, implementation and deployment of projects. Involved in City presentation development, such as visual and multi-media presentations and campaign designs based on client requirements. Administrative responsibilities included: Tracking of time per project and associated costs for the print services department log, maintenance of equipment and software. Occasional technical/copy writing, problem solving and answering a wealth of technical questions in regard to requested vendor art formats, system software, programs and city information.
