I have served the residents of the City of Raleigh in the Communications Department for 20 yrs. first as a Sr. Graphic Designer for 10 yrs. and as a Television Producer for 10 yrs. Currently, I am the Master Control Operator. Although I may wear a variety of hats within Raleigh’s Communications Department, I pride myself on the personal impact I had on the community over the years.If you would allow me to, I would like to paint a picture of who I am. I love civil service. That may be an emotional statement but it’s the foundation of my professional demeanor. I enjoy making positive changes in the world. I sat on a focus group with the Raleigh Police Department to help create and implement a 10-point plan for controlling of gun crime. I was also a part of the group that focused on how to influence youth against gang involvement for Wake County Public Schools, for which, I created several pieces of anti-gang media (brochures and posters). These are some of my proudest moments.I offer 20+ years of concrete experience as a Multimedia Designer, designing comprehensive websites with a back-end knowledge of code, search engine optimization, structure usability and interface design. Expert non-linear video editing with an understanding of compositing in After Effects/Premiere and a photographic eye for cinematic composition that can tell a story. Using regionally adapted graphic art, I have created award winning print work. I love the fast-paced environment of city government.As far as journalistic experience, I have nine years’ experience producing an organized set of weekly press releases and City Oriented newsletters on a deadline both via print and/or web. I didn't write the releases but I assisted in proofing and formatting the information. I have copy written invitations, brochures and several informative pieces. I have excellent interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal in both English and Spanish.
