All things Siri on tvOS

As a part of the Mobile infrastructure team I built internal and open source tools supporting WordPress, WooCommerce and Simplenote. This covers CI/CD tooling, test automation suites and internal developer tools built primarily with Java, JavaScript and Swift.

I focused on building new Siri experiences in the Home as a part of the HomePod mini launch. I also worked on cross device communication frameworks written in C/C++ and Objective-C to support device syncing between the HomePod, iPhone and Apple Watch.

I worked on both the web and mobile infrastructure teams building out automated test suites and infrastructure for the WordPress.com Calypso interface, WordPress Android, iOS and gutenberg editor built out in react native and also managing developer tools and internal CI/CD infrastructure. I also led efforts to improve accessibility for a variety of our mobile apps by advocating for and implementing a framework to audit accessibility in our products.

Adjunct lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, creating and delivering course content for 2 courses.

- CS Tutor for undergraduate courses: Intro to Programming 1 and 2, Object Oriented Programming, Mobile Web Programming and Analysis of Algorithms- Supervised a 3-member development team for an Android app for UWI Research Days(an annual 3 day event)

- Assisted Students with their Python and Java Lab exercises- Developed an Android app using the Play Services Barcode API and Moodle API to automate the process of storing and uploading students grades to the course portal

I worked on a team building out the automated the UI Testing of large-scale Mobile and Web Applications using Python/Javascript Frameworks and Appium. I also used tools such as JMeter to provide Load Testing Scripts for a number web applications some exceeding >10M users monthly. I also led research efforts for using Machine learning in testing in an effort to reduce manual testing efforts.

As a consultant to educational platform Udacity, I utilized my specialized knowledge in the fields of Native Mobile Development and Deep Learning and my strong communication skills to provide project reviews and other student support services.

I designed, developed and presented original Android course content for the Pluralsight course library. Created a course on how businesses can utilize the Google Play Services API to natively implement Mobile Vision and Nearby Messaging.

I worked on a project to redesign a NoSQL database structure to support an existing mobile app, this resulted in an improved app load time from ~10s to ~3s. Written primarily in Swift, I also introduced offline support for an app supporting a regional news service and worked with the web development team to re-design the URL structure in an effort to improve the visibility of the product.

Working along side the research team at UWI as a part of my M.Phil. I used the Java Spring Framework to develop a tool that indexes Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs) focused on the Caribbean using Apache Solr, it analyses submitted DRPs based on their completeness and extracts concepts from a defined ontology in RDF format using the KEA keyphrase extraction algorithm. I also exposed this for more open use through a REST and SPARQL API. This resulted in an invitation to the Second International Scientific Conference in Cuba (November 2016) where I presented the research and application architecture.

- Developed Native Android/iOS app for course portal for the University of the West Indies, Mona.

- As an intern I worked with the mobile development team for applications to serve the University of the West Indies Mona- Participate in application design sessions- Work alongside developers working on features for a new mobile app.
