After working for several years in high-end real estate in the suburbs of Washington DC (USA), I decided to venture into the affordable housing markets in Pakistan. After working with Tasneem Siddiqui (of the world renown Khuda Ki Basti- City of God projects), I decided to take that model of affordable housing and apply business principles to establish a sustainable for profit venture to demonstrate the commercial viability of the sector. Sixteen years later, Ansaar Management Company (AMC), with thousands of homes built across Pakistan for the lower income segments, an expanding base of international investors, and globally recognized reputation of transparency and governance--we are now looking to scale in-country and expand in other markets to share our expertise.Leading the affordable housing space locally and globally, AMC is looking to prove that Affordable Housing is a viable investment with high financial, social and environmental returns.
