Chairing a group of volunteers who help Northumberland County Council's Parks Officer in Berwick-Upon-Tweed maintain and enhance three local parks and run free family events in the parks for our local community and visiotrs to the town. We facilitate hands-on support through volunteer gardeners and financial support through fundraising events including our yearly Berwick Open Gardens.

Working with volunteers, community groups, individuals and local businesses to raise much needed funds for our local HospiceCare charity. From Hospice at Home to end-of-life care and from drop-ins to bereavement counselling, our wonderful local nurse-led hospice provides care and support to adults with life-limiting conditions at any stage of their illness – and supports their families and carers too.

Raising money to fund WISE; networking with businesses, individuals, other charities, relevant institutes and bodies to raise the profile and issues involved in attracting females into science & engineering careers. Lobbying and keeping concerned parties and information gatekeepers informed. Researching & writing literature, magazines, articles, and devising presentations and workshops to encourage 11-14 year-old girls to pursue relevant subjects.

Working with a wide range of clients - businesses, professional bodies, charities & government departments - to create clear, concise and dynamic communications through websites, literature, presentations, newspaper & magazine articles, training manuals, graduate recruitment literature & reports. Other writing includes children's fiction, local newspaper column and blog.
