I assist journeyman electricians in various tasks to gain practical experience and develop my skills. My responsibilities include digging trenches, holes, and creating foundations for conduit, supports, and manholes. I also help install copper-clad ground rods using manual post drivers for proper grounding. Breaking up concrete when needed to facilitate equipment work is another part of my job. Transporting tools, materials, and equipment to the work site, as well as positioning them with hoists or hand lines, is crucial. I inform journeyman electricians of material requirements and ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained. Additionally, I perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties, such as threading conduit, pulling wiring, and maintaining a clean work area.
