My first day of work, at 16 years old, is one that I will never forget. As an after-school janitor, my duty was to take the trash out for the entire building. When I arrived, the first thing my coworker said to me was, "This job is so easy. I'll show you how to stretch the clock." Immediately I knew that he and I completely disagreed on what was most important about any job.Every employer craves hard-working employees. A phrase that I often hear repeated both at school and in the workplace is “work smarter, not harder.” Because I understand that both quantity and quality are essential when it comes to producing desired results, my goal is to find the most effective and efficient way of performing any task.
