As an avid fan of basketball and someone who has enjoyed seeing women's basketball as a sport rise in popularity, I knew that leading up to my second year at the University if Michigan I wanted to get involved with the women's basketball team. After a successful cold email to the director of operations, I came to my first practice in July of 2024 where I learned the ropes and what is expected of a student manager. Some of my duties as a manager include providing on-site support for practice and games, setting up drills or taping the floor before practice, and being available and willing to help anyone on staff that needs it.

At the end of my Junior year of high school I began looking for a job and found MJ Farms. The storefront was within an ideal distance from the residence and I was able to land the job in May of 2022. My main focus for this job was to operate the cash register, which I processed an average of 50 transactions per shift. As a sales associate, I also had duties such as restocking and organizing inventory and improving customer experience. Additionally, I provided prompt assistance to customer inquiries both in-person and over the phone, resolving issues effectively to boost customer satisfaction.

While my senior year of high school was winding to a close in May of 2023, I began looking for local employment options leading up to the start of my freshman year at the University of Michigan. I saw a listing in an email of local non-profits that were hiring summer interns. I promptly applied and had an interview within a week. After a successful interview, I began learning proper office etiquette such as secretary skills. These skills included running errands, managing phone calls, and greeting visitors. As an intern, I was also tasked with collecting survey results to gauge popular opinions regarding the current state of my hometown. This research project allowed me to learn how to make a survey and the importance of asking the right questions.
