J. Abiona was responsible for all of the internal investigations to include embezzlement, fraud, sexual harassment, labor law violations, robberies and burglaries. During the first 12 months of working for the company, he conducted a total of 221 internal interviews totaling $151,281 in admissions. Mr. Abiona also provided training to numerous employees to include presentations regarding business ethics and leadership, shrink reduction, robbery prevention training, interviewing techniques and public speaking skills. He also created, presented and co-produced a security guard training video for the company with the assistance of a nationwide security company. Mr. Abiona also mentored and trained an Assistant Manager who had no prior loss prevention experience and assisted her with becoming an Area Loss Prevention Manager within 2 years of on the job training. The training consisted of basic loss prevention information as well as appropriate auditing skills, interview and interrogation techniques, public speaking and other skills that assisted her with becoming a huge asset to the company’s Loss Prevention Department.

J. Abiona reviewed store practices in an effort to maximize gross profit sales while reducing shrink. He implemented a “Shrink Prevention Team”, which reduced shrink by an average of 1.3% and is currently utilized in multiple markets. In addition, oversight and project implementation of cash shortage reduction as well as developing store specific, measurable action plans. Mr. Abiona conducted all corporate internal investigations to include theft, sexual harassment and hostile work environment with a total of approximately 200-300 interviews annually. He also provided training for managers, employees and other district personnel pertaining to a wide array of policies and procedures. Also, he conducted numerous presentations to company personnel on topics such as interviewing, organization, shrink reduction tactics as well as leadership and business ethics.
