Jay Anthony is a litigation attorney based in Greenville, South Carolina. He has been named to Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers Rising Stars, and to Greenville Business Magazine's Legal Elite. Jay has spent his life in the Upstate of South Carolina, having grown up in Spartanburg and attended Furman University. After graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Law, Jay served as a law clerk to Justice Costa M. Pleicones on the Supreme Court of South Carolina. Following his clerkship, Jay has practiced in various areas of litigation, including personal injury law, construction law, and business litigation. He also handles cases on appeal and has argued before the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of S.C. He has published articles on appellate practice in South Carolina as well as on a variety of other topics in a monthly column, and has been a speaker with the South Carolina Bar Association's Law School for Non-Lawyers Program. Jay is a member of the Executive Committee of the Haynsworth-Perry Inn of Court and has served as chair of the Families Forever Adoption Project. He is active in the community and serves as Chair of the Board of The Family Effect in Greenville, and has served as president of the Cleveland Forest Neighborhood Association and on the Cleveland Park Master Plan Advisory Board. Jay has been named to Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers Rising Stars, and Greenville Business Magazine's Legal Elite. He has received the Star of the Quarter Award and twice received the President's Award from the S.C. Young Lawyers Association. In 2016, he was selected as a member of the Chamber's Leadership Greenville program and, in 2017, was named to Greenville Business Magazine's Best & Brightest Under 35.In his spare time, Jay enjoys traveling around the Carolinas and spending time on the Swamp Rabbit Trail with his wife, Kristen, and their children.
