I’m a Senior Environmental Scientist with a concentration in water quality, wildlife habitat, and wetland science. I enjoy working on large scale projects that require “looking at the bigger picture.” This requires the holistic examination of relevant watersheds, wetlands, stream and their riparian systems, as well as wildlife habitats and corridors.With a team of highly skilled junior environmental scientists, we are able to delineate the boundaries of wetlands and then systematically assess their functions and values. Using a suite of GIS data layers and through coordination with multiple federal, state and local officials and collaboration with our talented engineers, we are able to design projects that avoid and/ or minimize impacts to the highest functioning, highest value resources. The result is properly sited projects that demonstrate a balance between wise growth and development with environmental protection.I worked in the public sector for 12 years as senior environmental compliance, permitting, and outreach professional. Working in this capacity, I enjoyed working on complex environmental permitting projects that required oversight from multiple factions of NHDES. From a compliance standpoint, I always strove to find reasonable and practicable solutions to complex environmental problems. As a state official engaged in public outreach, I worked to build and maintain strong communication networks and I designed/ tailored stakeholder specific education materials. I often placed emphasis on the "Purpose" of state laws and rules, focusing on the value of vegetated buffers, stormwater management, and the "Functions and Values" of wetlands in general.
