Worked in the roll of Scrum Master for two teams in the Connected Vehicle organization at SiriusXM. Typical Scrum Master responsibilities for those teams. Worked with other Scrum Masters across the organization to encourage trust, collaboration, and transparency. My focus was on the why we do things to ensure that I can create a change within the team that lasts beyond my presence. • Scrum Master team JIRA subject matter experto Provided reference site for creating useful queries and dashboards o Troubleshooting for all Scrum Masters with complicated JIRA issueso Developed portfolio plans for teams • Coached Product Mangers in proper story creation, story mapping, and refinement.• Created a challenge for the teams across the organization to identify and tackle issues that were causing delays / missed dates. This encouraged the teams to look at the bigger picture to see how we could improve approaches organization wide to improve delivery.• Co-Organized holiday celebrations for the CV organization (200+)

Acted as Scrum Master / Agile Coach with several teams for the Connected Technologies group at Toyota. In an environment with a mix of scrum and waterfall the focus was to move the organization towards a stronger agile approach. Worked with a large team of Scrum Masters to change the approach through collaboration and transparency. • Co-Organized multiple instances of Big Room planning involving 100+ individuals• Acted as the primary Scrum Master for a major release (focused on 21 year model head units) working directly with three other Scrum Masters• Created and ran multiple workshops for the teams within the organization• Supported both Scrum and Kanban teams• Organized visual boards for the entire program• Mentored / Partnered with fellow Scrum Masters

As a Scrum Master of two development teams, involved in typical scrum events for two-week sprints. Responsibilities included working closely with the teams to ensure they are supported in their goals, blocks are removed, and motivation is kept high. (along with providing supplies for the occasional pizza and beer night when deadlines were tight requiring late night work) Also provided close support for Product Owners to ensure the team is supplied with valuable and useful user stories. As a member of a team of six Scrum Masters additional focus is given towards the continual improvement of agile adoption throughout the company via coaching and providing various workshops and presentations.

In the role of Product owner worked on projects including search engine optimization, data analytics, merchants, marketing, and customers to develop solutions for the enhancement of the company’s web sites. Activities included the creation of user stories, prioritization of the backlog, and setting correct expectations of work to be completed. Worked daily with the development team to ensure a clear understanding of customer needs and managing the JIRA environment. Also performed the role of Scrum Master (not by choice due to the conflicts, but necessary) to ensure the team operated smoothly. Eventually converted the team over to Kanban due to the continual switch in priorities. Through Kanban I was able to help management visualize the impact to the work being done when priorities shifted.

Responsible for product planning and development of the Talyst InSite System product line. This included defining of the product roadmap along with creation of MRDs and PRDs. Worked with customers, developers, and executives to balance the needs of the each with what could be accomplished. Documented requirements in the form of user stories and worked daily with development to ensure a common understanding of those requirements. Set and followed standards and processes to allow for consistent and reliable deliveries of a variety different cellular products. Developed processes for requirements and release handling of the development projects for the local development teams. Led a team which focused on providing software configuration management, software builds, release management, and server administration for a variety of development efforts in a mixed UNIX / Windows environment. Supported Debian Linux and Solaris servers in support of a CVS repository for code management and builds for each project.

Through TrenchCoat Computer Consulting I provide technology support to individual and small business users. This service is largely provided in the form of after hours on site support.

Managed a team which developed streamlined Configuration and Release Management process for an ordering, provisioning and billing application used in the GTE Verizon footprint (Retail COFFE). The team’s responsibilities included managing Rational Clear Case VOBs and the Rational DDTS tracking system in a mixed Intel and UNIX environment. Responsibilities also included building and packaging final products using tools such as Java Ant scripting, batch scripting, Visual Studio .NET, and Install Shield. Responsible for the coordination of monthly production rollouts for Retail COFEE to over 20k desktops in the company and included complex integration with a mainframe back end. It included four clustered environments across the nation with 12 unix / Oracle servers and 12 MTS / SQL servers in each environment. Coordination of deploys involved development, QA, customer representation, and operations. Coordinated deployment activities over an extended period of time due to quarterly mainframe region requirements. The thick client was deployed to production using a Marimba system with multiple repeaters.

Responsible for the development of a streamlined Configuration Management process for a large inter-company application. This included management of the Rational ClearCase VOBs in a mixed Intel and Unix environment as well as the building and packaging of the final product. The tools used were batch scripting, Visual Studio and InstallShield. Managed the build environment, which involved maintenance of NT workstations, NT 4.0 MTS Servers, Unix servers and web servers. Involved in troubleshooting builds and production issues which included Oracle and Microsoft SQL servers in a multi-located clustered environment.
