I am Jay Carroll, a qualified carpenter, licences builder, insurance estimator and building manager.My industry experience both positive and negative includes- Apprenticeship in timber framing/form work/fixout/joinery- Civil and mining infrastructure construction as a lead carpenter, concreter and plant operator. - Launched my own carpentry business in the middle of a GFC - 8 years of business ownership providing services in everything from domestic housing to rural construction and most things in between - Business failure 2017 (no unpaid debts or debtors)- 2 years in the landscaping industry for one of the most well organised tradesmen I’ve ever met- 3 years as an insurance estimators and assessor for one of Australia’s biggest insurance builders which has included 3 interstate CAT events and being one of the first on the ground after Cyclone Seroja to help put Kalbarri back together- Completed Diploma of Building & Construction - Became a licences Building Practitioner - Founded I.Q Building Services- Currently a Building Manager at Major Loss Builders
