I am a Public Library Director with 24+ years experience as a librarian, the last 12 have been as director. As library director, I am responsible for all areas of the library, including: budgeting, administration, fundraising and public relations, collection development and acquisitions, building maintenance and improvements, designing and planning of a future 4,800 sq. ft. library expansion, purchasing, payroll, management of a staff of 7 employees, and, of course, customer service. In 2016, the library purchased a bookmobile and began running routes in August, ensuring that all parts of Conway County had complete library service. In my 24+ years, I have had experience in all library departments, including: Reference services, Youth and Young Adult services, circulation, IT services, and Technical services. During my tenure in Florida, I served as the young adult consultant for the State Library's Summer Reading Program. Currently, I serve as President of the Advocates for Arkansas Public Libraries organization, a lobbying group for Arkansas library legislation.
