About Jay Coffman

Leadership skills are sorely lacking at all levels in many parts of our society. I have over 30 years of proven leadership experience in the Army, Government and private industry. I have repeatedly taken programs that were failing to meet company and customer requirements and made them successful by leading multidisciplinary and multisite teams. In one case I had a customer tell me after we started delivering hardware on time that he never believed we would be successful. I have always promoted process improvements receiving the Raytheon Technical Services Company Presidents Award for 6 Sigma and the Naval Air Systems Command “Hockey Puck” award for process improvement. I also have a proven history of developing my own tools when corporate tools are non-existent or inadequate for the job.• Simultaneously lead multiple teams working unrelated programs.• Have the ability to develop a detailed plan and then adjust that plan to the inevitable changes that are required.• Ability to foresee changing requirements and have a plan ready to implement when those requirements come to fruition.• Work with conflicting/competing organizations to overcome obstacles to successful completion. • Get things done despite ambiguous guidance, organizational inertia, & resource limitations.• Teaching leadership skills and developing others.

Listed skills include Team Leadership, Project Management, Program Management, Engineering, and 14 others.
