I am a litigator with 10 years experience and a former prosecutor. I have successfully prosecuted appeals to 6th Circuit Court of Appeals and 8th District Court of Appeals, as well as successfully litigated numerous business litigation and criminal cases to trial, both to the bench and before a jury. My practice is centered in three areas: criminal defense,business devlopment and management ( working in the ares of entity formation, corporate compliance, acquistions and mergers, real estate acquisition,contract negotiation and contract formation) and civil litigation (breach of contract, civil defense, and business disputes). My background in engineering, as well as time spent working in heavy industry for LTV tubular steel (as a supervisor / ISO compliance officer) and Osborne Brush provide a unique understanding of the issues facing companies operating in the industrial manufacturing and heavy industry sectors, both union and non-union. I currently represent four companies with gross revenues in excess of $1,000,000.00 and am attuned to the needs of small and midsize business for competent, timely cost efficient representation. Over the past three years I have successfully defended a 2.4 million dollar breach of contract /unjust enrichment /breach of fiduciary duty lawsuit (based on a dispute over a government set-aside construction contract), tried (with a beneficial settlement reached mid trial) a 28 USC 1983 action in the Northern District of Ohio (after successful defense of a grant of summary judgment in the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals and prevailing on a Brief in Opposition to Petition for Cert. in the United States Supreme Court), and successfully tried a multiple felony case to acquittal in the Lake County Court of Common Pleas. I have also successfully negotiated immunity agreements for clients identified as persons of interest in Federal Criminal investigations.
