Jay Dasgupta is a professional musician, founder of Audible Steel™ and partner at Electrical Components Manufacturers.As a professional guitar player with deep experience in sheet metal manufacturing, he founded Audible Steel™ to make perfectly crafted music hardware products for musicians, luthiers, and collectors.Jay received his Diploma in Professional Guitar from Musicians Institute in 1993, and has been playing professionally since then. He has performed at all major venues in India and several others across the world as a guitarist and vocalist. He has opened for Buddy Guy at the Mahindra Blues Festival in Mumbai, India; and for Bobby Whitlock at Puravandara Blues Festival in Bangalore, India; and has performed live with Van Wilks, the guitar legend of Austin, TX. For 23 years, his band was the house band at Someplace Else, Kolkata – one of India’s greatest live music venues. He was the lead guitarist and vocalist. He has also spent several years taking care of a sizable collection of vintage guitars. Through this experience, he realized the important role of high quality aftermarket guitar parts in restoring the original tone and aesthetics of a priceless vintage instrument. As a professional guitar player with deep experience in sheet metal manufacturing, he founded Audible Steel™ which manufactures premium aftermarket saddles for S-style guitars. These vintage-style bent steel saddles are designed for musicians by a musician to enhance the sound and playability of all S-style guitars. In his role as partner at Electrical Components Manufacturers, Jay oversees product design, manufacturing and installation. He has represented his company at major industrial trade fairs in Europe and Asia, and has travelled extensively to establish business partnerships. He holds one of the first Indian patents in LED lighting.
