Responsible for recruiting and assessing eligible veterans in need of training and determining eligibility. Enroll participants in the Veteran’s Workforce Investment Program. Develop an employment plan with participants, as well as identify appropriate training programs in the field of Green jobs technology. Identify and address barriers to employment, provide job development and job placement. Make appropriate referrals based on individual needs, including DOL, VA Hospital, etc. Coordinate and attend ongoing meetings with partnering agencies to discuss client outcomes, training and potential job placements.

Responsible for supervising a staff at a satellite office. Submitted monthly office reports to Regional Director. Monitored staff caseloads. Facilitated workshops and orientations. Maintained rotating Jobs First Employment Service and Workforce Investment Act caseload. Assisted customers with barriers to employment in achieving employment and training goals.

Responsible for providing assessment, career and supportive counseling, referral and case management in order to assist JFES customers in achieving their employment training and goals.Act as liaison for three programs coordinating referrals to the programs, including start and end dates, monitoring attendance, and communicating with employment specialists. Additionally, manage an average rotating case load of approximately 120 participants.

Case Manager (2006-2007)Responsibilities include: referring Jobs First clients (youth ages 16-24) to Capital Workforce Partners funded trainings, social service agencies, community resources and educational facilities.Monitor caseload of 120 youth using the CT Works Business System, EMS and Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Maintain contact with all youth on a monthly basis. Work in conjunction with the Department of Social Services and the Department of Labor regarding clients’ success. Complete accurate and up-to-date case notes in CT Works Business System. Additionally, complete the sanctioning process for clients when necessary. Employment Specialist (2005-2006)Responsibilities included: designing, implementing, and updating a Job Readiness Curriculum for youth transitioning into part time employment. Create subsidized and unsubsidized employment placements to assist youth with community service, mentoring, internships and job shadowing experiences. Analyze data for tracking youth progress and compile reports on a monthly basis. Administer pre/post assessments and bi-weekly youth evaluations. Manage youth files (computer/ manually generated). Also, provide on-site training at Department of Children and Family residential facilities.

Responsibilities included supervising staff of 80 in training and overall care of Marines, keeping them in state of combat-readiness through physical training and mental preparedness. Ensured all medical records were up-to-date including all administrative duties and maintaining of files. Also counseled, coordinated and facilitated transfers and discharges. Also responsible for personnel evaluations.
