I am an Assistant Professor at Lipscomb University specializing on health care informatics and digital health in our Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Master of Science in Health Care Informatics (MHCI) degree programs. Previously served as clinical informatics pharmacist with UF Health Shands. My practice and research interest areas include: clinical decision support, medication safety, and data analytics.My informatics training included the completion of a (PGY-2) pharmacy informatics residency with Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy (LUCOP). The residency program was hosted in partnership with Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. I completed my postgraduate year one (PGY-1) community pharmacy practice residency with LUCOP and Perkins Drugs in Gallatin, Tennessee. I graduated with my Doctor of Pharmacy degree with Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy.

The Community Pharmacy Practice residency is offered in conjunction with Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy in Nashville, Tennessee. I served as the first community pharmacy practice resident in this program to grow professionally in the practice of pharmacy and personally as a patient-centered leader. Administrative responsibilities include the development of a comprehensive residency program manual, policies and procedures, and other related materials to build a foundation for future residents. During the course of the residency, an emphasis has been placed on pharmacy business development through expansion of progressive pharmacy services. Pharmacy practice responsibilities include verification of prescription orders, performing patient assessment and triage, medication therapy management, and development of existing clinical pharmacy services. As part of my year-long major residency project, I will be facilitating continued development of a medication synchronization program and implementation of quarterly comprehensive medication reviews for over 300 patients. Additionally, I with be working to research and propose a transitional care business model associated with the concepts of medication synchronization and patient medication adherence. At the end of the residency year, I will analyze and present the research results in a manuscript fit for scholarly publication. In addition to responsibilities on site at Perkins Drugs, I also will be completing a teaching and learning certificate program through Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy. As part of this program, I will be giving didactic lectures, precepting fourth-year pharmacy students, and developing a comprehensive academic portfolio. -
