Chi-City Records Inc. was founded by "JJ" Edmond and was helped to be launched and made reality by business partners Darnell Edmond, Richard Moore and Hayward Edmond. After much success with other joint business ventures, these young entrepreneurs collaborated to start Chicago’s first major record label. Having spent a lifetime in Chicagoland, one of the nations most music savvy cities, JJ had a vision of making Chicago one of the top music producing cities in the United States. With heaps of undiscovered talent, a distinct Midwest style that one can only appreciate, and the history of Chicago being a trendsetter, Chi-City Records- as Chicago’s first major record label-can only be a success! With perseverance, hard work, and by the grace of God Chi–City Records Inc. has come about and will become a tycoon in the music industry.Chi-City Records will specialize in a variety of music, while focusing mainly on Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, Dance and Rock. With the recent signing of one of Chicago's best underground engineer/producers, as Studio Manager/A&R, Chi-City Records is certain to produce chart topping hits that will be enjoyed on the radio and in the clubs, around the world.While currently working to introduce the label's premiere artist, Chi-City Records will soon be considering one of many very lucrative marketing, distribution and promotion contracts that have been offered to the label. As Chicago's first major record label, we shall represent this city with honor, serve the people with integrity and become yet another great attribute to the entertainment industry as a whole.
