I graduated from the University of Rochester in 2023, where my time leading the Mock Trial program instilled in me a professional interest in trial advocacy. That lead me to UCLA School of Law, where I am currently a first year.I joined the Mock Trial program without any advocacy experience, and quickly grew to love the competition. Over four years, I served as Vice President, President, and three-time captain of the A team. From teaching to the high stakes of the court room, I couldn't get enough of it. As our organization did not have a coach, my time in administrative positions also taught me a great deal about leadership—including how to support my colleagues when they would take the reigns. Now, I look forward to competing for UCLA. I intend to develop practicable advocacy skills which will serve me throughout my career.Beyond advocacy, my time working at the Women's Initiative Supporting Health and the Susan B. Anthony Center taught me of the consequences of a criminal record which extend beyond a prison sentence; namely the chilling effects incarceration stigma has on job and housing searches. This informs my professional work and is another field I am interested in exploring.
