As the Director of Flight Operations at United Aviate Academy, I was responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of the Academy’s aircraft and flight training programs. My role included establishing operational policies and safety procedures to meet FAA standards, leading and mentoring a high-performing flight operations team, and overseeing the training requirements for pilots and aircraft. I managed the evaluation of UAA equipment for safety and compliance and monitored operations to ensure adherence to administrative policies and regulations. I collaborated with the Finance department to develop and manage the flight department's budget. Additionally, I served as the communication link between flight operations, maintenance, and other departments, fostering a collaborative work environment. My responsibilities also encompassed overseeing logistics for remote operations, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, promoting flight safety, and engaging with stakeholders such as Finance, HR, Safety & Security, and United Airlines. I designed and managed Flight Operations KPIs, addressed issues proactively, and assisted management with special projects to add value to the Academy. I ensured the Academy maintained a high standard in flight training through my strategic and operational mindset, strong leadership abilities, and commitment to safety and efficiency.

As the Director of Flight Operations, I hold responsibility for developing a strategy for the flight operation and successfully leading through process monitoring, goal setting, and performance management. Our complex operations require a consistent commitment to just culture and a customer-focused approach to staff hiring, training, personnel development, team management, and continuous improvement. While in the position I have supported the organization as a member of the organizational Safety Review Board, management review team, and event review committees. I have effectively managed the department cost center through regular review of financial and operational reports to make effective decisions, and achieved highly successful customer relationships individually and through my direct reports.
