I come from a long line of farmers, and I’ve been surrounded by agriculture my whole life. I was a boy when my dad Jay started Michiana Equipment, so I’ve been here since the beginning. I’ve seen every up and down as we went from building our first chicken barn to becoming a regional provider of ag products and services. For years, I was Dad’s shadow, picking up everything he knew about chickens and chicken barns. During my school years, I spent summers helping with hog and poultry barn installs. I came on full time in 2014, working in the field. Over time, I began spending more time around the office, learning the business side of things. After developing our first catalog in 2017, I was in the office full time, taking on more management responsibilities.I took over from Dad completely in 2020, and it felt pretty natural because that was the path we had always figured on.My vision is for Michiana Equipment to keep growing as a trusted resource for the ag community. We want to do more than provide products—our goal is to be a blessing to our employees and to our community.
