Like so many other teachers, middle leaders and senior managers I want to make a difference, that is why I started in education, because it is one field that you are guaranteed to get the opportunity to do this – to make a difference. But as my career has fast developed in the last six years I find myself moving away from this cliché and expected response to “Why do you want this role?” to something a lot deeper. It’s not about making a difference for me anymore, it’s about making fundamental changes that will shape the way education looks tomorrow.I have always been ambitious, always wanted to be the best, learn everything I can and take on as many roles as I can to achieve the highest level of professionalism and personal accomplishment. Not because I want to be better than everyone else but because I love learning. It is a passion I learnt in school, a passion that was passed on to me from a set of teachers who also had a true passion for learning. It is this that inspires me and it is this that I want to share with my students because without a want to learn, without the passion for learning our students will only ever learn how to pass the exam and not how to develop as an individual.
