Jay S. Hausman was born in New York City. He attended the State University of New York at Albany Graduating in 1989. He attended the University of Bridgeport School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor degree in 1992. He was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1993 at the age of 24.He is the founding partner of the firm now known as Hausman & Pendzick. Mr. Hausman is lead trial counsel to the firm. He has successfully tried countless cases in the courts of the State of New York.Mr. Hausman’s training and experience has provided him with the ability to prepare and try high level negligence cases in such areas as Labor Law, Medical Malpractice, Premises Liability, and Motor Vehicle accidents.His representation of the firm's injured clients who have been the victims of the negligence of another has resulted in the recovery of many substantial verdicts and settlements. He has successfully litigated and was able to successfully negotiate a settlement of $3 Million for a woman had sustained burns as a result of the improper maintenance of a building. Recently, he was able to obtain $1.75 Million for a laborer who fell from a ladder sustaining injuries to his elbow and shoulder. Mr. Hausman was also able to obtain $1.5 Million for a construction worker who suffered shoulder and back injuries as a result of a worksite accident. Mr. Hausman has had his verdict of $430,420 for a client who had sustained a torn meniscus in a car accident listed in New York Magazine’s Highest verdicts of the year (2010) for an injury of this type. Jay is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, Multi Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Bronx County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice Law in the States of New York and Connecticut. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
