Very high profile project, exploiting new "play" in UKCS - West of Shetland, utilising a 6th generation RamRig. Awarded a Petrofac EVE responsiveness commendation award for my role in this project.Ithaca Energy - 30/6a-10 & 10z (Harrier field) - First dual lateral, acid fracked stimulation well in the UKCS. 6,000ft of horizontal reservoir drilling through naturally fractured and faulted carbonate formations. Highly complex well delivered using "fit-for-purpose & off-the-shelf" rather than "bespoke" technology, saving $130m from conventional design. Awarded a Petrofac innovation commendation award for my role in this project. -
Senior Drilling EngineerApache Corporation Jun 2015 - Feb 2016Aberdeen, United KingdomSenior Drilling Engineer on Beryl field in UKCS.Responsible for planning and overseeing execution of 9/13a-B80 ERD well from Beryl Bravo platform.This project involved a protracted and complicated slot recovery phase, resulting in the requirement to restore integrity to the 13 3/8" intermediate casing and the 9 5/8" gas injection, production casing string in the donor well. In order to facilitate sidetracking the new well at the required depth, a 7" Liner Hanger and ±200ft of liner were also milled out.A 12,000ft horizontal, 8½" hole section was then drilled to TD at 20,927ft. The drilling operations were carried out in a "Best in Class" time for the UKCS - for any well longer than 6,500ft in the UKCS. -
