Jay Lance Kovar was an honors graduate of UT Austin and UT San Antonio Medical School. Dr Kovar completed his training in Emergency Medicine, serving as Chief Resident and Principle Investigator in Human Resuscitation research at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and Fellow of the American College of Emergency PhysiciansDr Kovar has served as the EMS Medical Director for Montgomery County Hospital District Emergency Medical Services and currently the PHI Air Medical group for Texas, ESD 11 Mobile Healthcare, and Walker County EMS. He is an advisor to multiple area hospital systems for Trauma, STEMI, Stroke, Sepsis, and Post Resuscitation Hypothermia protocol development. Dr Kovar is the author of several peer reviewed journal research and educational materials. He has lectured at local, state, national, and international levels on multiple aspects of emergency care, receiving recognition and honors for those endeavors. His practice philosophy is to bring advanced critical and emergency care to the prehospital setting, meshing initial patient contact to definitive care, through consensus building in the medical community.
