Upon graduation I was assigned to work in Uniform Patrol Operations. My function as a police officer was to answer calls for service and related law enforcement functions. In 2004 I was assigned to the School Resource Unit as a "DARE"/School Resource Officer I was responsible for being the point of contact for multiple schools in Henrico County and taught the DARE curriculum to hundreds of students throughout the school year. In 2009 I was involved in the transition to our new "in house" curriculum which became known as P.E.A.K. Police, Educators and Kids is a uniquely Henrico Police Division curriculum that is designed to be tailored to each school community to fit their unique needs. Conducted a year-long pilot program in a small number of schools. The program was offered county wide the following year. Henrico County received a NACO (National Association of Counties) achievement award for the PEAK program shortly after its implementation. In March 2015 I was assigned to the Professional Standards Unit to serve as the Court Liaison Officer. I serve as a liaison between the Police Division and numerous court related entities including the General District/Circuit Courts, clerks office, Commonwealth Attorney's Office, Magistrates Office and Sheriff's Office.
