Commenced legal career in Houston, Texas working 6 years in the legal department of Brown & Root, Inc.a subsidiary of Halliburton Company. First assigned to domestic contracts in the United States dealing with the petrochemical and oil industry. Subsequently assigned to middle east projects with extensive travel to Libya and Europe. Moved to Miami, Florida in 1986 and established Lincoln Title Company in 1987 and later formed law firm of Lorenzo & Capua n/k/a Lorenzo Rodriguez-Rams practicing in commercial real estate law and banking. Extensive outdoorsman, avid runner, cyclist, swimmer and hiker . Completed several Ironman Triathlon races including Kona World Championship in 2003. Finished 48 marathons, Boston Qualifier and over the last 10 years have been heavily involved in backpacking.
