Studying the properties of "black silicon" films, which are formed via ion-implantation followed by pulsed laser melting using a Nd:YAG laser. Part of a collaboration with research groups at Harvard, MIT, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and University at Albany. Projects include time-resolved and steady-state microwave photoconductivity experiments, Raman spectroscopy, experimental automation and motion control, numerical modeling, and design of experiments.
