Jay Montgomery is the Vice President of Security for Kinder Morgan. In this role, he supports all of Kinder Morgan’s business segments, including Natural Gas Pipelines, Products Pipelines, Terminals, CO2 and Crude Pipelines. Mr. Montgomery has enterprise wide responsibilities for developing and directing the organization’s security strategies and programs to assess and mitigate risk, maintain continuity of operations, and safeguard the organization. In addition, he also has leadership responsibilities for Crisis Management and Business Continuity .Mr. Montgomery has held leadership positions and membership in several industry and public-private partnership groups. He previously served as chair of the Oil and Natural Gas Sector Coordinating Council (SCC), chair of American Petroleum Institute (API) Security Committee, and chair of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) Information Technology and Security Committee. He also previously served on the Homeland Security Advisory Board (HSAB) for the MITRE Homeland Security Center, and as an industry representative for both the Pipeline Sector Coordinating Council (SCC) and the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) Oil and Gas Security Council.On periodic basis, Mr. Montgomery assists in the design and coordination of briefings and on-site demonstrations for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)'s senior energy and regional economic analysts to enhance these analysts' ongoing assessments of the international security implications of energy transportation networks. In addition, he has served as a guest lecturer on Infrastructure Security at the Columbia University - School of International and Public Affairs.
