Streetscape is an award winning social enterprise. We provide apprenticeships in landscape gardening to 18-25 year olds who are long-term unemployed, helping them to build the skills, experience and attributes they need to fulfill their dreams and move into and retain work: growing lives, transforming landscapes.In so doing we design, landscape and maintain gardens across South London for residential, commercial and community-based clients. Since 2010 we have earned a reputation for delivering beautifully constructed gardens to suit all plot sizes and budgets. I joined Streetscape in 2013 because I believe in its ethos, giving unemployed young people the chance to develop themselves both personally and professionally. • Sole responsibility for organising client meetings, site surveys and drawing up design briefs. Creating designs and planting plans to suit these briefs, offering hand drawn aerial and perspective drawings and providing clear, detailed quotations. Ensuring client satisfaction throughout the duration and after completion of the projects. • Undertaking construction activities when on site. Managing a team of landscapers often on multiple sites. Procurement of materials for each project. Ensuring the execution of all projects on budget to strict deadlines and to an extremely high standard.• Managing a team to carry out maintenance projects alongside the hard landscaping teams.• Responsible for employing, motivating and developing all contract labourers. Employing and managing sub contractors. Ensuring the safety of all employees and members of the public when on or adjacent to site. Ensuring the security of company and hired in tools. Keeping up to date with any new legislation in health and safety, CIS schemes, PAYE and employee rights.• Organising all bookkeeping, company accounts, wages, VAT, corporation tax and all aspects of public liability insurance, rents and rates. Monitoring all incomes and outgoings ensuring all projects complete within strict client budgets.• Responsible for all aspects of marketing from raising the company profile via recommendation sites, forums and media publications to updating the website. Building good relationships with suppliers and other industry professionals across the domestic and commercial sectors. Keeping up to date with new developments and trends in the industry, with special consideration to environmental issues and planning.
