I manage the day to day operations of the Software Development department at TROY. This currently includes eight employees that are a mix of developers and quality assurance. I am responsible for managing the development schedule, estimating new projects, providing ongoing status reports to upper management and assisting where necessary.

I started at TROY working as a general purpose C# developer mainly concentrating on supporting and updating TROY C# WinForm and ASP.NET applications. I assist with updating the products to fix bugs, add new features and streamlining the user experience.I've moved on to assisting in a major redesign and porting effort to move the legacy TROY HP printer firmware onto a new platform. Since the porting project ended, I've been the sole developer involved in the new HP printer firmware for over a year. In that time I've become an expert at interpreting and analyzing the PCL 5 printer language. I've also expanded my programming skill set to include C/C++, particularly as it applies to the embedded environment on modern HP printers. I've been in charge of designing, implementing and delivering several custom HP printer firmware projects to meet the needs of large enterprise corporations. I still routinely contribute to design discussions for almost all of the current on going software development projects. This includes all aspects of Windows desktop applications, ASP.Net web applications, Azure cloud applications and potential future mobile applications.

I did general help desk type things such as maintaining the department PC's, installing software and maintaining a "smart" classroom with laptops, projector, etc...

Repaired cash registers in the field, handled phone technical support and engineered migration of point of sale system from SCO Unix to Redhat Linux 5.2
