Over 25 years of experience in the mechanical maintenance field beginning with a 4 year millwright apprenticeship. Possess a wide variety of knowledge in the mechanical maintenance and millwright trade. Acquired extensive knowledge in maintenance and repair of various equipment in nuclear and fossil fuels power plants, chemical plants and paper mills during millwright apprenticeship and work experience. Valve Experience: Primary and secondary valve maintenance includes repair and overhaul of gate, globe, check, safety relief, control, butterfly and other special purpose valves e.g., MSIV’s, Kerotest, turbine stop valves, steam dump valves, etc. Refurbishment of various control valves and AOV actuators including Fisher, Valtek, Rockwell, Velan, Copes-Vulcan, Bettis, Hammel Dahl, etc… including stroke adjustments, upper and lower bench sets, pressure drop tests, actuator spring tests. Replacement of Omni seals, o-rings, piston rings, diaphragms, bushings, quad and cup seals, etc… Valve repair includes machine grinding of inner body seats. (Dexter, Lars, Efco) Machine facing and hand lapping of gate valve wedges, calculation of gate valve wedge drops, blue-check of sealing area for 360 degree contact. Repair, inspection and lift set-point adjustment , disc/seat bluing in of safety and relief valves. Bench testing utilizing hydrostatic and pneumatic test equipment. Inspection, repair, blue check, paper check of swing, lift, and tilted disc check valves. Calculation of packing cross section and stack-up. Chesterton repacking program utilizing carbon bushings. Packing types include Chesterton 5800i/5300, Argo, Fisher, TFE V-ring, etc… Familiar with freeze-sealing to allow for valve rework. Also disassembly, inspection and repair of various steam turbines (Westinghouse, G.E., Dresser-Rand, Terry), diesel generators, pumps, compressors, etc....
