As Operations Manager at Cappello's I wore many hats as it was a small but fast growing business. I was directly responsible for shipping and transport of all incoming and outgoing products and ingredients. I processed all orders from single-person web based sales all the way to managing distribution orders that totaled $125,000 + per month. Another main responsibility of mine was the sourcing of ingredients for all Cappello's products. I worked closely with food brokers and individual suppliers to secure my company top quality ingredients that fit our strict food certification requirements, all the while saving the company as much money as possible. I worked in conjunction with our kitchen manager to keep a detailed record of inventory to ensure we always had enough raw ingredients to keep production moving steadily.As Operations Manager, I played the role of HR manager as well. I created all the Employee Handbooks, Manuals, Agreements, Contracts and Disciplinary processes. In addition to creating those company documents I also upheld company policies in regards to our employees as well as customers. I completed and kept current all certification programs that were integral to the livelihood of Cappello's. Our Gluten-Free, Kosher, Paleo Friendly and non-GMO certifications acted as a "badge of honor" for our products and helped push the local Denver company to international recognition. More of my day-to-day responsibilities included payroll, Invoicing wholesale clients and distributors (from individual restaurants and chains to national/international distributors like UNFI).
Operations Manager
As Operations Manager at Massage Specialists, I was split between managing two locations (Boulder and Denver). I had a team of approximately 60 massage therapists, eight front desk staff, two chiropractors and a handful of acupuncturists between both wellness centers. I was in charge of the rigorous interview and training process for all therapists as well as front desk employees. At Massage Specialists, we set a very high standard for bodywork as well as customer service and our staff reflected that perfectly. A large portion of creating such a stellar environment came from the training I provided for our contractors and employees. Customer satisfaction was always a top priority. I supervised our Membership programs and implemented sales games and goals for our staff. I educated employees on how to sell these wellness programs and continually checked in with them to ensure they were supported and could reach their individual as well as team sales goals. As a direct result of those sales games we were able to steadily increase our membership program to 500+ active members and provide top quality care to clients in need. Insurance billing was another large portion of income for the company. I managed the Boulder center Insurance billing and supervised the billing for the Denver location. Over a period of three months I was able to streamline our process' on both the therapists and administrative side allowing for an increase in insurance clients as well as revenue for the company. As I was the head of our insurance billing department I also took charge of Accounts Receivable for the company. This included invoicing and creating detailed client reports for individuals, companies/corporations and insurance companies. This particular responsibility required a delicate balance of exemplary customer service paired with upholding company policy.
