I work with students to increase their employability skills and build confidence in achieving career goals and targets. I currently lead on the sandwich placement scheme, promoting this to students. I am the main point of contact for all national employers and organisations for work placements/experience opportunities for students studying Arts and Sciences.

CurrentI have intermittently worked with a successful artist management company and record label. As tour manager on several UK tours, I’ve played a significant role in managing several Merseyside based artists and bands as they undertake live performances, radio appearances and showcases across the country. Careers And Community Partnership Co-Ordinator
My role required me to maintain a number of different positions of responsibility. I organised all the Careers Guidance Events including Careers Conventions, Options Evenings and Mock Interviews. I managed all the Work Experience, placements and Education Business Links events with the local business community. This required me to attend networking meetings and produce, evaluate and maintain a working database of useful contacts. To ensure the Programmes were a success I strenuously promoted these to ensure maximum support and maximum effect. I linked up with the local universities and colleges to arrange a host of employability and educational opportunities for students. I arranged all the specialist interviews for outside agencies such as Connexions, who I also worked with in order to ensure all students were supported, as well as seeing students for guidance interviews on a one to one basis, and in groups myself. I also oversaw the Alternative Curriculum students working with these students at external placements by providing one to one support and guidance on their futures. During my interviews, I allowed the young people to express any pastoral needs that may affect their own short-term and long-term goals in order for me to provide advice and support. To ensure that this advice and support was accurate and relevant, I regularly attended conferences and workshops to stay up to date with current employability trends. I have also Co-ordinated the AimHigher Scheme in the school which included setting up events and activities for our students with Higher Education institutions. When I was awarded the seven ROQA for the school, I created Portfolios of evidence to support the practical work I co-ordinate. I evaluate all Programmes to ensure focus and value for money within the budget. To succeed in all these duties and responsibilities, my ability to communicate at all levels, organise work, meet deadlines and show initiative are essential.

My role as CEG Co-ordinator, involved me having a number of different positions of responsibility. This included organising the Connexions Path-finder scheme, developing links with local businesses, Higher Education and Further Education institutions to take part in Work Related learning events and overseeing the Work Experience Programme. I also developed and maintained databases, word processing and carried out other clerical duties.

I worked with young people from the ages of 6 to 16 organising activities and events. I also organised competition days involving other youth clubs within the Merseyside area as well as liaising with outside speakers to come and give talks on a number of different issues for the young people.
