With over 15 years of experience in sustainable agriculture and nonprofit leadership, I am passionate about building resilient food systems, fostering community connections, and advancing ecological stewardship. My journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology from the University of Vermont, where I gained a deep understanding of ecosystems and conservation. This foundation has driven my career, from hands-on farm operations to strategic leadership roles, allowing me to bridge ecology and sustainable farming. Currently, as Executive Director of Ekar Farm, I lead a nonprofit dedicated to food security, sustainable farming, food justice/sovereignty, and education. At Ekar, we aim to create a lasting community impact by offering hands-on learning opportunities, fostering food justice, and promoting sustainable agriculture. One of my primary responsibilities has been launching a $1,320,000 capital campaign to expand our operations at Shalom Park, a new 2.86-acre site. This initiative will increase our production capacity, enhance our educational programs, and strengthen our ability to serve the community. Before joining Ekar Farm, I founded Golden Acre Farm, an organic operation supporting local food banks, farmers markets, and CSAs. Managing every aspect of the farm—from crop planning to community outreach—gave me practical insights into sustainable farming and strengthened my passion for community-driven agriculture. I’ve also worked as an agricultural consultant, providing guidance on soil health, crop selection, and business planning to help farmers build resilient, productive operations.Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by a vision of agriculture as a tool for positive change. At Ekar, I work with an incredible team to create educational programs, build partnerships, and inspire environmental stewardship. Whether through nonprofit leadership, consulting, or community engagement, I am dedicated to empowering others to connect with the land and make a lasting impact on our food systems and environment.
