I also do the shipping of parts within the United States that are going out for assembly at a sub-vendor. As final products will go to the company's shipping department for crating and shipment, as this is typically international.I also handle inventory management. Trainer/Receiving Clerk/Special Handler/Shipping

Reno, Nv

At Arrow Electronics, I originally started out as a storer; in which I would put new stock into inventory. Also I would help with unloading of trucks and sending the boxes down the correct conveyor belts. I was then trained in receiving of goods, into the system. I then became a department trainer, who would train new hires on how the receiving department worked from unloading trucks, to receiving and storing of parts. Then I was transferred over to the shipping department. I originally started working on the high volume shipping of packaging orders quickly. Then I was trained on how to process the orders to ship, at this point the pack slip and freight label for UPS, DHL, and FedEx would ship. I was later trained on handling freight shipment, preparing pallets, and scheduling the pickups with freight companies such as Saia. I then had the opportunity to be trained in special handling. Special handling was a section of shipping that not many people could do because it was following strict guidelines; a specific customer would have on how to package and label of the ordered product. Once I had learned all the functions of shipping, except international, I then was able to train people within the shipping department. Also during my time with the shipping department, I would fill in for leads when they would go on vacation or to meetings. And I continued this until I left the company in February 2006, to pursue a career with the California Highway Patrol as, a traffic officer; however, I was not successful in passing all of the tests.
