Mr. Powers' professional career includes information systems consulting, aerospace manufacturing and venture capital starting in 1983 with the consulting division of Arthur Andersen & Company, after graduating from Washington State University with a major in Business and a minor in Medical Sciences, and earning a MBA from the University of Washington. From 1985 to 1994, he was involved in the funding and mergers and acquisitions of manufacturing, processing and warehousing companies in the Northwest, including leading a $7 million international aerospace products manufacturing firm. Mr. Powers began his focus in private venture investments in 1994. Since then, and to present, he has developed business plans, held board positions, operated as a corporate officer, assisted in mergers and acquisitions, and organized capital, human and strategic resources for emerging Northwest companies as Investor (I), Board Member (B), Officer (O), and/or Advisor (A), including:Pantheon, Inc. As Managing Partner of Bear Creek Venture Partners he structured, executed and managed investments of over $40 million in 35 Northwest early-stage technology companies and experienced several successful liquidity events including: Activate.net, Printbid.com, WeSync, Inc., ArenaNet, Inc and Northwest Biotherapeudics.In 2008 Mr. Powers retired from venture fund management but continues private investment and consulting activities in manufacturing, technology, wireless, media and real estate development. He is active in church, charity and music performance, plays golf poorly, has two adult daughters and resides with his wife Lori of 40 years in Woodinville, WA.
