Spending a total of 25 weeks at sea on exercises and operations, I covered several roles onboard HMS Queen Elizabeth, while simultaneously performing extra duties such as Firefighting, Damage Control and First-aid response. Weapon Engineering Technical Office (Oct 22 - Jun 23): Working closely alongside the Weapon Engineering senior management team, administered all HR related matters for the 130 WE’s onboard. Including but not limited to pay, allowances, appraisals, SharePoint administration, defence writing and data manipulation. Travel Office (Jun 23 - Sep 23): Facilitated continuous travel and accommodation bookings for over 800 members of the ship. Managed travel allowances, NATO travel orders, passport & visa applications, and conducted monthly assurance checks.Ancillary Support (Nov 23 - Jan 24): As the SME in HR operations provided expert advise and support to my peers and senior management on all complex issues.

Covered a gapped HR Supervisor position during Operation Firedrake, managing and supervising a team of 4 HR Specialists. Conducted weekly assurance checks of all tasks completed by the team, provided support for complex issues, prepared logistics briefs for the Captain, and briefed the Head of Logistics about all ongoing HR matters at the weekly departmental planning meetings, among other duties.

My first military assignment was at Northwood HQ which is a tri-service establishment, home to the Joint Forces HQ and NATO Maritime HQ among other important military organisations. During the initial 9 months I was employed in the pay & allowance section of the Admin Office, where I maintained all pay accounts assigned to myself at a high level and provided first class administrative support to the personnel on base and deployed overseas. The latter half of my posting was spent covering duties that are normally expected of a Supervisor/Manager in the appraisals and assurance section, while also being the sole point of contact for all Reserve Forces personnel assigned to Northwood HQ. By efficiently managing my workflow, I was able to maintain spare capacity throughout my time at Northwood HQ. This allowed me to take on extra responsibilities such as: Training Co-ordinator - regularly organised and delivered training sessions on relevant subjects to all members of the office.Secretary, Northwood HQ Welfare Committee - scheduled monthly committee meetings, took minutes, collected all bids and prepared them with maximum information before presenting them to the committee enabling the members to make an informed decision. Treasurer, Northwood HQ Junior Rates' Committee - maintained a cash account of over £10,000 - issued funds and recorded them in a legible manner for annual audit checks.

HR specific training which included learning about Tri-Service and RN specific laws of service, pay & allowance, assurance, appraisal and cash handling among other topics.

Underwent 10 weeks of intense training to transition from being a Civilian to a member of the Armed Forces. The training package was physically and mentally challenging, primarily focused on integrating the key Naval skills and values in the day-to-day life of a Royal Navy Sailor.

Sourced, screened, and coordinated interviews as per the client’s requirements, and closed off deals by negotiating pay and salary rates and finalising arrangements between clients and candidates.

Hastings Direct served as my first employment, which I took up initially as a part-time role while simultaneously pursuing a Bachelors degree. As a customer service representative, I was responsible for providing informed replies to all day-to-day queries by the relevant stakeholders, as well as administering any policy changes on the customers' accounts. With time, and after gaining enough experience, I was tasked with providing training and mentoring support to the newer members of the team.
