1993 : The idea for an exclusive bespoke tailoring boutique came about. Madras was growing and there were not many designers making quality Men's attire. Our vision was clear - to deliver high quality tailored products, in an Old World and English ambience. We wanted every aspect of our brand and store to reflect that ideology.Being based in Madras, the Madras-British connection inspired us. Fort St George was the first English fortress in India, founded in 1644. The city evolved around this fortress. It served as the headquarters of the East India Company, also home to St. Mary’s Church, India's oldest Anglican church and is part of so much history, including the marriage of Governor Yale of Yale University.“Fort St. George” was 'Proper', 'English' and 'Aristocratic' - Everything that we knew our brand would be.1994 : We set out to design an exclusive boutique perfectly suited for a gentleman.1995 : Fort St. George – The Bespoke Couturier is born
