Mr. Slauter has more than 40 years of experience in private business and public administration. He worked 22 years in the transportation industry serving as the first Marketing Manager for Southwest Airline in New Mexico, Vice President for the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, and owning a travel agency in Durango, Colorado. After earning a second Masters Degree in Counseling Mr. Slauter practiced as a therapist in mental health before relocating to Tucson. Shortly after arriving in Tucson, Mr. Slauter became affiliated with Tucson Youth Development. He has worked in different capacities with TYD including Youth Opportunity Program Coordinator, School Counselor, Assistant Principal, and most recently, Principal. Mr. Slauter has been the Principal of ACE Charter High School, one of two charter schools operated by TYD, since July 2009. Effective August 1, 2015, Mr. Slauter will assume the position of Executive Director of Tucson Youth Development. Mr. Slauter is a strong Christian disciple and joyfully worships with his wife, Shirley Marie, at Passion Church in Tucson.
