SKI has developed a novel biosensor platform designed to measure bio-interactions in a label free environment. The core technology is based on optical interferometry and measures the shift in spectral properties of light as it interogates a proprietary silicon biosensor surface. This property shift is caused by 2 molecules binding (association) and releasing (disociation) on the chip as detected by a camera. These real time or kinetic measurements are very important to reasearchers in the fields of Biology, Drug Discovery and diagnostics.The SKI Pro is also designed to interface to Mass Spectrometry. Especially LC/MS.
