Senior Supervisor ( Facilities )

Abigroup Contracting

Northern Network Alliance

At the NNA I was the Senior Supervisor for facilities on the southern sites. This involved 4 different facilities spread over 50km, Water Quality Facility, Pump Station, Inline Pump Pit, Flow Control Valve. All of these sites involve structural steel works, concrete structures, building structures and mechanical pipe work. My role was to co-ordinate construction of the concrete pit structures, mechanical pipe installers, facility buildings along with organizing subcontractors and set a high quality of safety and environmental practices. Regular site inspections with engineer's and senior management were done on all sites to maintain quality regularity. Pup/Services Foreman

2009-2010

Dinmore To Goodna Upgrade

The Origin Alliance is set up of a number of companies to help construct the 8km Ipswich Motorway upgrade. My first task on this project was in the Public Utility Plant team in which I was in charge of the subcontractors that were installing the new water mains and sewer mains, including tunnel bore installations. This involved morning pre-starts and weekly toolbox and regular safety inspections with the subcontractors, with six working fronts at the one time. With the ongoing works being completed at a rapid pace the re-instatement of footpaths, roads and water ways was taken on by myself and a small team. With this I was in control of ordering materials and other subcontractors to complete the works.Once the PUP works were finished I then became the site foreman for a section of works labeled the Mines Street Intersection. This intersection had a number of temporary traffic switches including temp traffic signals and storm water drainage before the permanent intersection could open. This part of the motorway was on a critical path for completion as this intersection controlled traffic movements in and around the entire motorway. My duties here were to maintain a safe and environmentally controlled site, as well as boxing out sub-grade, installing permanent pavement, street lighting, ITS, electrical and communication conduits, longitudinal drainage. Regular site meetings and weekly meetings with designers and engineers kept me updated and allowed my ideas and program to be implicated. Liaising with Structures and two adjoining civil foreman was also a daily occurrence.

Abigroup Contracting

Northern Pipeline Interconnector

The Northern Pipeline Interconnector was the third installment of the water grid that will eventually relieve south east Queensland of drought. The pipeline was designed mostly on energex easement, however it sometimes diverted across properties and farms. My roll at the start was to locate all services involved with road crossings and properties. To do this I had to gain access to dial before you dig plans, liaise with local councils, Telstra, energex representatives, property owners and site foremen. My team consisted of a vacuum excavation truck a 4 ton excavator and pozi track combo along with 6 personnel . Once we were ahead of the road crossing crews we then took over some rectification works such as road repairs, driveways to properties, water services and Telstra repairs. Some of the works required the replacement of house services eg. Electrical, water, Telstra and water tank installations. Once the pipeline had crossed 90% of the roads I then took on the role of supervisor of the installation of utilities at the chemical dosing plant at Landsborough. This consisted of the procurement and installation of main roof water lines connecting downpipes to the buildings, storm water mains and manholes, sewer mains and manholes, pvc and poly water mains, chemical testing lines, electrical mains and pits, Telstra and optic fibre conduits and pits, and two 20,000 litre enviro tanks for chemical spill catchment.
