I am currently a Director on the K-12 Municipal Advisory team. I joined Baker Tilly in January of 2022, after spending 26 years in public education. During my time in education, I served as a teacher, coach, building level administrator, and district level administrator. I started college as a banking and finance major. During college I started coaching High School football and fell in love with teaching, so I switched my major to Education. I was fortunate to get a position teaching at the middle school level and coaching high school football and baseball along with middle school basketball. My passion for scholastic sports lead me to a position as an athletic director. In addition, I served in an assistant administrator position assisting with student discipline, attendance, and the master schedule. I was approached by my Superintendent about the field of school finance. I never realized there was a business side to schools. I was intrigued and began taking IASBO courses in 2007 to learn the world of school finance.Upon completing my MPA degree an opportunity presented itself for me to oversee the personnel department and manage state and federal grants. This was a tremendous learning opportunity. I was able to work with our district leaders in recruiting staff, collective bargaining, and learn valuable insights into construction management, procurement, employee benefits, self-funded insurance, property/casualty insurance, transportation, food service, the list goes on and on.I specialize in assisting schools manage budget pressures to fulfill their core mission of educating students. I support schools through financial planning and analysis, mentoring and advising, and budget development and monitoring.
