Worked as hospitalist covering the medical ward and intensive care unit. Pathology was extremely diverse and often required interaction by phone with subspecialists at larger hospitals. The original 6 month contract was extended due to a typhoon which increased the medical needs of the community.

Duties consisted of patient management on the medical wards and ICU. Pathology encountered was extremely diverse and often required interaction by phone with subspecialists from larger facilities, since subspecialists were not present on site in most of the rural hospitals. Teaching of junior staff was required in the form of power point presentations as well as informal tutorials after daily ward rounds. Chart reviews occured weekly for quality control.
