Finally, I supported company directors in a number of business process improvement projects, and created written and video training materials to support change management.

With input from functional and project managers, I made decisions related to contract management, project initiation and closing, resource allocation, and project methodology. I elevated our system of project controls, enabling improvements in revenue forecasting, budget management, and project record-keeping. I was responsible for strategic account management, and I was the escalation contact for senior client stakeholders.

The Edmonton Construction Association helps construction businesses and stakeholder groups work together to achieve world-class construction outcomes. As director of education, I programmed workforce-learning events that addressed skill gaps and encouraged collaboration across the traditional divides of design, engineering, construction, and project owners. I worked closely with subject-matter experts to design, evaluate, and elevate their training materials. As director of communications, I led the effort to keep members and stakeholders engaged via digital, print, and social media channels.

At Duke University, I mentored graduate students working in their first teaching assignments. Through workshops, individual consultation, and facilitated peer-observation, I helped new instructors to translate their research expertise into courses appropriate for non-expert, undergraduate audiences – with the primary course goal of cultivating student writing skills and critical thinking.
