I co-lead this social enterprise which aims to put into practice citizen-led and community-led models of economic development. We work with members of all Torbay communities to start up and support green or social enterprises, build productive networks of local economic actors, and engage large anchor institutions to unlock their transformative potential. In 2019 we ran the first Local Entrepreneur Forum in Torbay and launched the Torbay Social Enterprise Network.

I've been teaching two courses, Introduction to Economics and Economics in Action, for which I designed and teach the module, 'Citizen-Led Economics - Post-Growth, Post-Crash, Post-Capitalist', covering economic relocalisation, Degrowth, peer to peer and commons movements. For two terms, I taught masters-level International Environmental Economics, and this year will begin co-teaching Perspectives in Economic, which I've co-designed and deals with economic change in response to global heating and ecological crisis.

Totnes REconomy ProjectI'm a coordinator of the Totnes REconomy Project, which is the umbrella for a number of sustainable economic regeneration programmes for Transition Town Totnes. In this role, I co-founded the Local Entrepreneur Forum, REconomy Centre, and Adventures in New Economics. I was also a key contributor to the Totnes Local Economic Blueprint, and developed a self-directed online course for the UK REconomy Project designed to support NGOs, local authorities and community groups who want to replicate the Local Economic Blueprint in their own communities.

Founded consulting firm advising businesses and community groups on sustainability, resilience, and community-led economic regeneration. Areas of expertise include research and strategic planning, community engagement programmes, communications, training and team building.

Co-founding member of workers collective producing a national newspaper reporting on the growing Transition and 'relocalisation' movement. The Transition Free Press is distributed through Transition Towns and community groups thoughout the UK. It's available through subscription and at a growing number of independent shops.

Write monthly column covering green building and sustainability for Building Products Digest and Merchant Magazine, published by Cutler Publishing with national circulation that includes approximately 21,500 retailers and distributors in the building products industry. Founded industry-first, green distribution company for independent hardware and home improvement dealers. Designed, planned and launched highly-regarded product approval process, eco-label system, in-store co-branding, and sustainability education programs for retailers and staff. Initiated a broad range of grass-roots community outreach activities connecting mainstream retailers to local community constituencies. As autonomous division of 160 year-old company, led organizational change within parent company with educational workshops and online knowledge-base. Grew dealer network to over 70 retailers, doubling revenues, and inspiring healthy media coverage - broadcast, mainstream and trade print, and internet.

Founded consulting practice specializing in bio-based products and materials. Engaged by leading online retailer GreenHome.com to screen and evaluate products, and create partnerships with nation’s leading bio-based compostable food service and packaging manufacturers. Expanded business to business sales resulting in 100% revenue growth over 3 months. Other projects included research and planning for bioplastic startup, Plasbio, and bagasse products importer, Greener Earth Marketing.

Planned and led initial product launch and assumed overall P&L responsibility for innovative single-use products made from PLA and other compostable bio-plastics. Developed national distribution channels, led PR campaign that resulted in TV, radio, and print coverage, expanded product line.

Led this successful Silicon Valley agency on branding, positioning, marketing communications, field sales, and internet projects for Applied Materials, Cisco, Deloitte & Touche, Intel, and host of smaller technology companies and start ups.
