Jay T. Email and Phone Number
Jay Trang is a leader in the CSUF community, looking to empower students through enhancing their public speaking skills and educating them on how to use data to make better decisions.Throughout his time growing up in family businesses, Jay found the value of not only serving but communicating directly with customers. By opening a space where the customers feel welcomed and appreciated, he found that communication opens up revelations and insights about the customers lives, which Jay has used to enhance their experience with the family businesses. Moreover, Jay has proved pivotal in his work in Digital Transformation by transitioning the business model of the family restaurant -Z's Kitchen - from a primarily dine-in model to a pop-up catering powerhouse by bringing the restaurant's business into digital markets. After enrolling in the California State University, Fullerton as a Marketing and Information Systems students, Jay has found opportunities both in-class and in campus to develop both his soft and hard skills. Through his studies, he has learned how to align business strategy with data by first collecting the data a business needs and then taking insights from the data to drive decisions throughout the business.Jay has then put his studies to practice by becoming an evangelist for Data Literacy and Data Storytelling through his leadership in the CSUF Business and Data Analytics Club. Jay has further enhanced his leadership skills by joining the Giles O'Malley Center for Leadership's Leadership Scholars Program as the Vice President of Learning and Development, where he moderates workshops where students in campus can learn about empowering skills like Storytelling, Financial Literacy, and Mental Wellness. Furthermore, he has made improvements internally in the Leadership Scholars program by unlocking insights in the program's own data on the Scholars and digitizing their attendance recording system.Jay has proven to be a champion of Digital Transformation and Data Storytelling.DataCamp progress: https://www.datacamp.com/portfolio/dotProduct314GitHub: https://github.com/Developer-BlueJ-314
