SUMMARY After a successful career in Real Estate, I decided to return to the non-profit sector. I began work at Ironbound Community Corporation, as I was impressed by the organization and its work in the largely immigrant community in the East Ward of Newark, particularly due to the current political climate. Prior to my time in Real Estate, while at Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC), I was the sole Special Events manager tasked with overseeing multiple fundraising events each year and liaising with members of the community who were producing their own events and performances intending to benefit GMHC.  In my career prior to GMHC – managing high-end, flagship bookstores for the major literary chains, Doubleday Book Shops and Brentano's Booksellers – I also oversaw the production of all in-store special events: including readings by both prominent and emerging literary authors, book signings by celebrity authors, launch parties for major titles, and events in conjunction with major literary awards, like the Edgar Awards and the Whiting Awards.
